2017 -2018 Schedule of Events
NOVEMBER 4th - 6TH , 2017
Battle of Honey Springs, Indian Territory (Oklahoma)
http://www.okhistory.org/sites/honeyspringsbattle
This event is FREE! BUT YOU NEED TO PREREGISTER. The state needs to know we are coming to buy resources. This is a great piece of Oklahoma History and a fine service to the Oklahoma Historical Society, Camping style is static and it will get colder in the evenings so coordinate with your company officers for proper clothing. Primary Impression is 2nd Colorado Infantry
DECEMBER 1st-3rd. 2017
Battle of Pea Ridge, Arkansas
www.pearidgereenactment2017.com/
This is a growing event that shows promise to develop into a strong regional or national level event in the near future. Territorial will be joined by friends from Kentucky and Tennessee to fill out our company. Primary Impression is 9th Iowa Infantry
JANUARY OF 2018
Units need to look over the 2108 events available in their area and the region to develop their 2018 schedule. Unit commanders need to contact Colonel Trent or Lt. Jefferson with their input for the 2018 maximum efforts. The following are some options that our units may wish to consider. THESE EVENTS ARE FOR UNIT CONSIDERATION, ONCE THE MEMBER UNITS HAVE VOTED THIS SCHEDULE WILL LIST ONLY THE BATTALION MAX EFFORTS
FEBRUARY 22nd -25th 2018
Mississippi Stands Event, Bryce's Crossroads
Tupelo, Mississippi
http://1stdivision.net/mississippi-stands-2018
Not familiar with the hosting organization but Terry Crowder is the commanding officer for the Federals. It's a bit far for our Texans but it was requested we give it a look. Seems to be similar to Twin Rivers.
FEBRUARY 22nd-25th 2108
Battles of Socorro and Valverde, New Mexico
http://socorro-reenactment.com/
I know our Second Colorado units have wished for a chance to reenact the New Mexico Campaign of their namesake. This looks like a more manageable event than the long drive to Arizona and there are local recruits who wish to fall in with us. Static Camping and a local fort for support.
JULY 5th -7th 2018 (PLUS DRIVE TIME)
Battle of Gettysburg, National Effort
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
http://www.gettysburgreenactment.com/reenactors/
FOR BOB! What started as a few guys riding to Gettysburg for the 155th has now blossomed into a full on Battalion effort. We currently have about 50 men form Territorial and about 60 guests for 100 plus rifles already. Therefore Battalion Command will be setting up arrangements for an Infantry impression at Gettysburg (assignment not yet known). Units should communicate their Gettysburg intentions soon.
SEPTEMBER 21st - 23rd, 2018
Battle of Lexington, Missouri
No website yet
This will be the biggest event in Missouri in 2018. It looks very nebulous at this time but things are coming together quickly. The battle of the Hemp Bails is a great scenario with unique impressions and fortified trenches. One to watch for as it will no doubt be a big draw for those not attending Gettysburg
OCTOBER 19th-21st, 2018
Cabot Civil War Muster
Cabot, Arkansas
Colonel's Recommendation
This sia great event hosted by our friends in the 5th Michigan Lt. Artillery. It receives excellent support from the local population and is a great drill and recruiting opportunity for Arkansas. In addition skirmishes include fortifications and period obstacles.
The Colonel would like to see this become a regular muster spot on Battalion rotation.
DECEMBER 7th- 9th
Battle of Prairie Grove, Arkansas
https://www.arkansas.com/event/battle-of-prairie-grove-reenactment/117850
Colonel's Recommendation
The centerpiece reenactment of our region and one of the finest events we attend. Prairie Grove is not to be missed. Scenarios continue to adapt as we inch closer to reenacting the entire action. add extra tidbits like recovering the 20th Wisconsin's colors or flanking the 19th Iowa in the orchard are always being included as this old favorite continues to grow.
