Attention Battalion.
Your peformance at Pilot Knob was spectacular. I was disappointed we fell just 10 rifles shy of a full battalion but considering how far this event is for some of us its a great effort. The consolidated company worked well and it was good to see our units work well together. Though there were minor hiccips it was a smooth event and I'm sure we'll return.
I'm pleased to award Top Drill honors to the 1st Arkansas. Hats off to Capt. William Hardage and his men for their hard work and improvement! Well Done Mountain Feds! Okay 2nd Colorado time to catch up! I'm thinking drill contest at Honey Springs!
I've been appraised there are new sergeants and corporals in the battalion. It pleases me to see new leadership in training. We're also seeing more new recruits. As other units struggle we continue to grow.
Speaking of growth we have some exciting news. We have a potential new member unit! The 1st TX US/ 7th TX CS is new unit out of Muskogee, OK. We'll be reviewing them this Fall for possible membership.
Honey Springs will be big opportunity for . Lots of fish. Like 20-30 will be coming to fall in for the first time. WE NEED EVERY SCRAP OF LOANER GEAR YOU CAN FIND.
The impression for event is 2nd CO. Sack coat and undressed Hardee preferred for this impression. Free event but you need to register to help plan resources.
I continue to be proud of the accomplishments of our battalion. Your efforts are a testiment to history.
